Summary
Marketers are increasingly voicing concerns over ineffective advertising spending, coining the term "bullspend" to describe campaigns that generate impressive metrics but fail to deliver tangible results. A common scenario involves presenting only positive statistics, such as impressions, to superiors while neglecting the actual revenue generated. The emphasis is shifting towards achieving measurable outcomes rather than merely showcasing reach.
In the realm of marine biology, the evolution of fish jaws is highlighted as a remarkable adaptation that enhances their feeding capabilities. Early fish developed a secondary set of jaws, known as pharyngeal jaws, which allow them to capture and consume prey more effectively. This adaptation has led to a diverse range of jaw structures among fish species, enabling them to thrive in various aquatic environments and diets.
Cichlids serve as a prime example of this diversity, with over 1,700 species exhibiting unique jaw adaptations that allow them to exploit different food sources. These adaptations are not only crucial for feeding but also play a role in mating, as males produce distinct sounds using their jaws to attract females of their own species. Scientists continue to explore the complexities of these adaptations, underscoring the significance of having multiple jaws in the evolutionary success of fish.

Discover the adaptation of the pharyngeal jaw, a secondary set of jaws that allow fish to capture and eat their prey at the same time. Uploaded 29-06-21--After stalking a cuttlefish, a moray eel finally pounces. As the eel snags the mollusk in its teeth, its prey struggles to escape. But before it can wiggle away, a second set of teeth lunge from the eel’s throat. This adaptation is called a pharyngeal jaw, and is one of the most common adaptations under the sea. Darien Satterfield shares how this incredible skeletal mechanism works.Lesson by Darien Satterfield, directed by Zack Williams.Support Our Non-Profit Mission----------------------------------------------Support us on Patreon: http://bit.ly/TEDEdPatreonCheck out our merch: http://bit.ly/TEDEDShop----------------------------------------------Connect With Us----------------------------------------------Sign up for our newsletter: http://bit.ly/TEDEdNewsletterFollow us on Facebook: http://bit.ly/TEDEdFacebookFind us on Twitter: http://bit.ly/TEDEdTwitterPeep us on Instagram: http://bit.ly/TEDEdInstagram----------------------------------------------Keep Learning----------------------------------------------View full lesson: https://ed.ted.com/lessons/real-life-alien-jaws-darien-satterfieldDig deeper with additional resources: https://ed.ted.com/lessons/real-life-alien-jaws-darien-satterfield#digdeeperAnimator's website: https://zackwilliams.work Composer: https://cargocollective.com/maxwellsorensen----------------------------------------------Thank you so much to our patrons for your support!
