More from Double Threat with Julie Klausner & Tom Scharpling
This week Tom and Julie accidentally deep dive into the history of the band Double, and remix their song "Rangoon Moon" live on the show. Plus they take a look at some disturbing clips just in time for Halloween, including a new Halloween decoration debuted at TransWorld 2026, Mickey Rooney's One-Man Band, a disturbing Fudgie The Whale, a 1971 McDonald's commercial in which Ronald McDonald kills Evil Grimace, and an terrifying Twinkies ad from 1979.
This week Tom and Julie are trying their best to not get sick after finding out (with photographic non AI proof!) how Ted Cruz eats his hot dogs. Plus Tom and Carson argue about Digger, Julie talks about visiting the real Criterion Closet, and we watch clips of an awkward interaction between two BBC reporters, and find out what a dung cam is. And much more!
This week Tom and Julie are cooking up some great ideas such as Sliwaween, and discovering if Herman Munster actually green and what the hell was McDonald's soup?! Plus they watch clips of the new Romantasy scare zone at Howl-O-Scream in SeaWorld Orlando (featuring our old friends the sliders!) and a 1968 McDonald's fried chicken commercial.
This week Tom and Julie learn the truth about the mysterious Burbank Dairy Queen, and share their feelings on David Fincher's upcoming The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth. Plus they watch a 90s McDonald's commercial featuring a very familiar face, a commercial for the worst toy ever made, a live performance of Frozen gone wrong, and a clip of a former Lucchese Crime Family member explaining how to make the perfect hot dog.
This week Tom and Julie are treating you to the story of their failed Dairy Queen commercial audition, talking about the end of The Shining, the current cast of SNL, and debut the dumb person’s reading club! Plus they watch clips of a possible inductee into the High Pants Hall of Fame Class of 2026, Chuck Berry creepily talking about selling his Cadillacs, and listen to Robert Preston's "Chicken Fat."
