INTÉGRALE PARTIE 1 – Rothen s'enflamme du mardi 27 octobre 2026

Kylian Mbappé faces significant backlash following a controversial video in which he jokes about a meme depicting him as Mao Zedong. The video, recorded months ago during an episode of a podcast, was released recently and sparked outrage in China, leading to the termination of sponsorships from three companies associated with the football star. The situation escalated to the point where La Liga announced the suspension of its broadcasts in China, highlighting the economic stakes involved in the fallout.

In response to the backlash, Mbappé issued a public apology, expressing his respect for the Chinese people and acknowledging the hurt caused by his comments. The incident has raised questions about the effectiveness of his management team, as the video had been approved for release. La Liga officials are now working to mitigate the damage, emphasizing the importance of maintaining their long-standing relationship with China, which has been cultivated over years of investment and partnership.

The implications of this incident extend beyond Mbappé, affecting the broader landscape of football's commercial ties with China. As the situation develops, both Mbappé and La Liga are under pressure to navigate the diplomatic and economic ramifications of this misstep.
