The Dr. Ardis Show Podcast

Show Notes

In this special partner episode of The Dr. Ardis Show, Dr. Bryan Ardis sits down with Tim James, founder of Chemical Free Body and the man behind one of the products Dr. Ardis and his wife Jane drink every single day. If your energy is low, your health is suffering, or you've tried everything and can't figure out why you still feel terrible, this episode is for you. Tim shares his personal story of being 42 pounds overweight, bleeding for two and a half years, covered in eczema, and nearly dying on a trip abroad and how he healed himself entirely through concentrated green nutrition. He explains why nutrient deficiency is the silent driver behind nearly every chronic health condition, what Dr. Weston A. Price discovered about indigenous cultures and their near-perfect teeth, and why even one cavity is a sign of long-term nutrient deficiency. The conversation also covers the rebrand of Tim's flagship product, formerly known as Green 85, now called Organic Energy Juice, packed with 3 - 4 pounds of concentrated vegetable nutrition per scoop, no sugar, no caffeine, no chemicals, and no crash. Tim walks through how taking it twice daily can boost energy within 20 minutes, reduce food cravings, cut grocery bills, and dramatically improve sleep quality. This week, The Dr. Ardis Show presents How Fungi and Molds Destroy Lives. Dr. Bryan Ardis explains the difference between mold and fungi, how mold spreads through homes and food, and why mycotoxins matter, citing USDA guidance on moldy food and the UN Food and Agriculture Organization's estimate that 25% of the world's food crops are affected by mycotoxins. He focuses on aflatoxin, the cancer-causing mycotoxin found in field corn and peanuts, and on Dr. T. Colin Campbell's book The China Study, and he walks through recent recalls of snack cakes, baby food, applesauce and dog food over mold and mold toxins. He then lays out his first step for anyone dealing with fungal overgrowth: the anti-Candida diet, a low-sugar, anti-inflammatory way of eating built on non-starchy vegetables, low-sugar fruits, quality proteins and fermented foods. The episode then moves through the research: lab studies showing thymoquinone from black cumin seed oil (Nigella sativa) inhibited dairy spoilage yeasts better than common food preservatives, and a rat study where Nigella sativa oil and date extract reduced aflatoxin-related liver and kidney damage. Dr. Ardis covers copper complex studies showing antifungal activity against 21 Candida isolates and their biofilms, licorice root extract inhibiting all 19 Candida strains tested, and apple pectin as a soluble fiber that binds waste and supports gut health. This week, The Dr. Ardis Show presents PCOS Awareness Month. Dr. Ardis explains how the Cleveland Clinic has renamed polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) as polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome (PMOS), a hormonal condition linked to irregular periods, excess hair growth, acne, weight gain and infertility, while admitting its exact cause is unknown. He walks through the three most commonly prescribed treatments, metformin, letrozole and combined birth control pills, along with their published side effects. He then turns to research on Nigella sativa (black cumin seed oil) and its active compound thymoquinone, including clinical trials in women and adolescents showing more regular menstrual cycles, smaller ovarian volume, lower testosterone and luteinizing hormone, and better insulin resistance. The episode then moves to magnesium, where 250mg a day improved quality of life, energy and emotional well-being in women with PCOS, and to a meta-analysis of 11 randomized trials showing that zinc, selenium, magnesium and chromium supplementation improved fasting blood sugar and insulin resistance. Dr. Ardis also covers research linking low zinc to PCOS, vitamin D studies showing restored menstrual cycles and pregnancies, and licorice root extract research showing lower testosterone and estrogen and healthier follicles. This week, The Dr. Ardis Show presents Natural Solutions to Hypoglycemia. Dr. Ardis opens with Cleveland Clinic's definition of low blood sugar for people with and without diabetes, the conventional push toward fast-acting carbs and the 15-15 rule, emergency glucagon and its side effects, and the difference between reactive hypoglycemia and fasting hypoglycemia, including symptoms from shakiness and irritability through severe confusion and loss of consciousness. The second half moves through six natural tools backed by research: magnesium intake linked to lower risk of metabolic impairment and better glycemic control; zinc for insulin sensitivity and beta-cell support; licorice root for adrenal insufficiency and cortisol balance; the amino acid alanine for boosting the body's own glucagon response during low blood sugar; vitamin B12 replacement for impaired awareness of hypoglycemia; and chromium, including a reactive-hypoglycemia trial with fewer symptoms after six to twelve weeks. Five of the six nutrients are ingredients in Hydrate Complete; licorice root is highlighted through Foreign Protein Cleanse or a standalone extract, alongside Magnesium Complete and Zinc Plus. This week, The Dr. Ardis Show presents a special episode: Raising Children Naturally in an Artificial World. Dr. Bryan Ardis is joined by Dr. Ed Group and Dr. Jana Schmidt to preview the 2026 Healing for the A.G.E.S. Virtual Fall Conference, taking place online October 9–10. The doctors explain how the body is designed to heal itself when stress and toxins are removed, using broken bones, fevers, and food poisoning as everyday examples. Dr. Schmidt explains why a fever is a healing sign rather than a symptom to switch off, and Dr. Group walks through the toxins children face from air, water, food, personal care products, mold, memory foam mattresses, sunscreen, EMFs, and the wrong kinds of light, as well as stress, bullying, and social media. The conversation then turns to how the four A.G.E.S. doctors raised their own 11 children without pharmaceuticals. They cover homeschooling, morning meditation and family routines, travel as education, and the books they had their kids read, including The Four Agreements, The Mastery of Love, The Total Money Makeover, Outwitting the Devil, and Think and Grow Rich. Dr. Ardis tells the story of being reported for hugging his daughters in a school cafeteria, and closes by discussing the WHO's new definition of obesity and published research linking glyphosate exposure in women to obesity across four generations. On Friday, October 9, the doctors' adult children join a free evening conversation about growing up natural. Saturday, October 10, brings full sessions from Dr. Jana Schmidt, Dr. Ed Group, Dr. Henry Ealy, and Dr. Ardis, with live Q&A, replays, and downloadable presentations for registered attendees. This week, The Dr. Ardis Show presents Health Secrets on Longevity. Dr. Ardis opens with Harvard Health Publishing's lifestyle strategies for a long, healthy life (nutrition, exercise, not smoking, limiting alcohol, sleep, hydration, socializing, and optimism), including a study of more than 11,000 adults linking good hydration to fewer chronic conditions. He then covers the landmark 2023 Science study "Taurine deficiency as a driver of aging," where taurine levels fell with age in mice, monkeys, and humans, and taurine-fed mice lived 10 to 12% longer on average, plus a 2023 Nutrients review on taurine and heart health. The second half moves through selenium and its role in antioxidant defense and inflammation (including the Swedish selenium and CoQ10 trial in older adults and research on centenarians' selenium, copper, and iron levels), a 2025 mouse study on long-term N-acetylcysteine (NAC) and pancreatic health, the four-year VITAL trial finding that vitamin D3 slowed telomere shortening and reduced autoimmune disease incidence by 22%, and a rat study on vitamin K2 and the aging brain.
