Today’s word of the day is ‘context’ as in the take economy as in misrepresentation as in aggregation as in listening to the actual work, or reading the actual work. I said some things on Wednesday about baseball on radio, and people are upset with me for it. I tried to understand why, and it’s a combination of things. (18:00) There were three stories this week about trades: trades that didn’t happen, trades that were requested, and trades that seemed like a surprise. Tarik Skubal was almost on the Brewers. Instead he was sent to the Dodgers. The Athletic reports that the Tigers had a deal in place and then ghosted the Brewers! (31:30) Jeffery Simmons was traded to the Chicago Bears on Thursday. An All-Pro for two first rounds to the Tennessee Titans. Do these kind of trades work? (41:05) Hockey talk! Dylan Larkin has been suspended without pay by the Detroit Red Wings. Why? He wants out of Detroit. (46:21) NPPOD. (50:00) Review: Backrooms.
