Shan Says: The Ring Doorbell Outed Her and We Cannot

Still Not Straight

Show Notes

She's back. The cowboy hat is back. And this time she's brought G - who, for the record, did not volunteer for this. Welcome to Episode 2 of Shan Says - the mini-series where you send in your questions and Shannen (and apparently G now) give you the most unfiltered, honest, been-there-done-that advice on the internet. In this episode, Shannen and G tackle: 🚪 She hid her girlfriend from her religious parents for TWO YEARS. Then mum saw her on the Ring Doorbell. Then she invented an entire clothing resale business on the spot. What the fuck is wrong with her? (Spoiler: nothing. But also, it's time.) 🏳️‍🌈 Her best friend came out as a lesbian — because of advice SHE gave her. Now she's watching lesbian shows on purpose, saving edits of women, and has a little secret Spotify podcast habit. Shannen has some thoughts. So does G. 👵 She's in her 60s, just downloaded Hinge, and thinks she might be bi. The app's given her crickets so far. Shannen and G give her actual tips — and extend a very special invitation. 💔 Her daughter's dad left when the baby was eight months old. Five years later he made a move when she visited Perth, told her he wants to be with her — just not now. Shannen has a word for him too. (It's cockhead.)🎭 Someone sent in a question so confusing that Shannen, G AND ChatGPT couldn't figure out what they were asking. The audience had to be called in. 🌈 She's been bi since she was eight, only wants women now, and has never actually been with one. She's terrified she'll be shit. G has the most reassuring answer you'll ever hear.

📩 Got a question for Shannen? Send it in - relationships, coming out, family drama, the stuff you can't say to anyone in your actual life. We want to hear it. We made it to the season finale, babes and apparently decided the best way to celebrate was to say things we probably shouldn’t say and then start drinking. First up: Taboo Topics Part 2. Is ghosting ever acceptable? Should your partner be able to tell you who to unfollow? Are thirst traps okay when you’re in a relationship? Can you love two people at once? And are we getting a little too comfortable changing everything about the way we look? Then Sarah joins us with 400+ anonymous questions from YOU for a game of Say It, Sip It or Shot It. Exes. Hookups. Dating. Body counts. Rumours. Red flags. WLW confessions. Second chances. And several questions Tessa would very much like everyone to stop asking. Answer it… or drink. What could possibly go wrong? Thank you for another season of Still Not Straight. We bloody love this community. Keep up to date with the chaos: Instagram: TikTok: Merch: Voicenote:

Your first WLW heartbreak? Yeah… we did everything but die. This week, the girls are talking heartbreak: how to survive it, how long you actually need to be alone, whether you should delete your ex, why you NEED to stop comparing who moved on first and what actually helps when you’re deep in breakup hell. Tessa shares what she’s learned from going through two very public breakups, while Shannen brings a slightly more… cutthroat approach to moving on. We also need to settle something: Is yearning romantic or toxic? Can you get over someone by getting under someone else? And should photos of your ex stay on the grid? Most importantly: your life is not over, love is not a race and the person you were meant to be with hasn’t passed you by. Bounce back game strong, babies.

Order in the court, bitches. Lesbian Law is officially in session. This week, Tessa and Shannen are taking your dating dilemmas, red flags and questionable relationship behaviour to court and deciding whether you deserve jail, bail or a spot in the cell with them. Keeping a list of everyone you've slept with? Following old hookups? Matching tattoos after two months? Your girlfriend spending hours getting “closure” with her ex? An ex still coming to family Christmas? And what about your girlfriend becoming a little too friendly with the lesbian friend you introduced her to? The judges have opinions. Unfortunately, they're also discovering that they're guilty of quite a few of these themselves. Some cases are straight to jail. Some get bail. Some require therapy. And some need to be handed directly over to the jury, you. Court is in session.

Shan owes Tessa one. After Tessa set Shan up on the blind date that led her to the love of her life, Shan is returning the favour and she’s convinced she knows exactly what Tessa needs. No photos. No stalking Instagram beforehand. No judging a book by its cover. Just three strangers behind a barrier, a stack of questions and Tessa choosing who she wants to take on a date based entirely on their answers. It’s giving 80s dating show. It’s giving Love Is Blind. It’s giving… Still Not Taken. Will Tessa find love? A date? Absolutely no one? And does Shan actually know what Tessa needs? Welcome to the very first Still Not Taken.

We opened the X Files… and apparently you lot have been THROUGH IT. This week, we’re talking exes, the good, the bad and the ones who absolutely should have stayed blocked. You sent us your wildest stories and somehow they involve cheating fiancées, exes following people interstate, secret relationships, stolen puppies, Bumble BFF “sleepovers”, breakups that refused to stay broken up and a woman pretending all of her lesbian exes were actually men. Tessa and Shan also get into their own exes and situationships, trusting your gut, why we ignore red flags when we’re in love, the chaos of lesbian dating and whether anyone really knows what happens inside someone else’s relationship. The silver lining? Pretty much everyone has been through it and eventually, you get to look back and laugh. Got an ex story for Part 2? We want it.
