Show Notes

It's a welcome return to Soundtracking for composer Michael Giacchino, who joins us to discuss his work on Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Starring Tom Holland & Zendaya, it sees Spidey fighting a telepathic threat while coping with the stresses of protecting New York City as his own superpowers evolve. And as you'd expect, plenty of familiar faces from the MCU help him along the way. We also discuss several other movies he's worked on or has coming up, including the next outing for Matt Reeves' Batman.

It's a bumper episode of Soundtracking to start your week - as we bring you not one but five guests from our latest Soundtracking Film Club at Everyman Whiteley's in partnership with Range Rover. The movie in question is Extra Geography, and Edith was joined for a Q&A after a special screening by director Molly Manners, writer Miriam Battye, producer Sarah Brocklehurst, and its two extraordinary young stars, Marni Duggan and Galaxie Clear. Based on a short story by Rose Tremain, Extra Geography explores the relationship between two teenage girls and best friends at boarding school in England. We love these Everyman events with Range Rover - a brand synonymous with mastery in all its forms, championing those who push boundaries, define standards and create enduring impact. Both Soundtracking and Everyman align naturally with Range Rover’s core principles relating to leadership, cultural authority and creative excellence, so we're absolutely thrilled they have chosen to support our podcast, which was recorded live in front of an audience following a screening of the film.
