Show Notes

Nadia Love is an alumni of the University of Alabama and received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from my undergraduate alma mater Bradley University. Her clinical experience includes sports/orthopedics, acute care, pediatrics, and pelvic health. As a former athlete, she was always interested in movement science, but has recently geared her focus to the world of Pelvic Health. She is passionate about patient-centered care and treating a variety of conditions as she grows her knowledge. During her time in PT school, Nadia was involved in a variety of organizations and was a chartering member of the IL chapter of the National Association of Black Physical Therapists in 2021. While excellent patient care remains her top priority, she is also passionate about community involvement and education; she was voted by her class to be “The Best Women’s Health and Community Advocate." Outside of the profession, Nadia is a doula, looking to assist mothers in preparation for labor and delivery of their little ones as well as recovery after. She enjoys sports, exercising, spending time outdoors, and aerial fitness in her free time. Connect with her on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/nlove_pt/ and email: [email protected]

Mary Willcox Smith had the résumé of someone who had it all figured out: a ski company she launched at 26 in Switzerland, an MBA from INSEAD in France, and enjoyed a stint at American Express in NYC and Argentina. Then she had four daughters in five years, one with medical needs, and discovered competence alone wasn't enough. The turning point wasn't a new strategy — it was permission to stop doing more and start noticing what was already happening. That insight became the MicroStep Method®. This free excerpt gives listeners a practical next step: what to do when those moments don't go the way parents hoped. The repair chapter and HEAL practice from The MicroStep Method® for the Overwhelmed Parent show parents how to reconnect after a hard moment and help rewrite the meaning their child carries from the experience. It reassures listeners that parents don't have to get every moment right, because repair itself can become one of the moments that builds trust and resilience often talk about how small, emotionally charged moments shape a child’s identity, confidence, and sense of self.
