WHAT HAPPENS IN THIS EPISODE?
Jesus is invited to lunch after church He heals a man on the Sabbath asking, “Which of you doesn’t work on the Sabbath?” He watches the seating at the table and calls for a humbler selection of a seat He cautions the host about inviting those who can pay his invitation back We hear a parable of a great banquet which no one will attend – except those who are living on the street Jesus cautions his followers to count the cost for following him The Pharisees and tax collectors complain about with whom he is keeping company Jesus tells three stories to explain his search for the lost and the desire to throw a party in heaven.

What Happens in This Episode? In this Jesus Stories episode, as Jesus approaches Jerusalem he tells a parable of a rich nobleman. He visits the home of Simon the leper, whom he had healed. Simon hosts a party in his honor. Among the attendees are Mary, Martha, and Lazarus. Mary anoints Jesus with oil – much to the dismay of some. Jesus finally rides into Jerusalem and is honored as the King he is. While the crowd shouts approval, the Pharisees plot to kill both Jesus and Lazarus.
