President John S. K. Kauwe III and Sister Monica S. President John S. K. Kauwe III and Sister Monica S. Kauwe serve as the University President and First Lady of Brigham Young University–Hawaii. President Kauwe specializes in Alzheimer’s disease genetic research and serves as the 11th president of BYU–Hawaii, where he has served as university president for six years. President and Sister Kauwe are the parents of five children. Their oldest son, Sai, is currently serving a full-time mission in Hamilton, New Zealand.
