With very little out there about Scythe Of Grim beyond their music, we sat down with founding guitarist Jesus Maldonado to put the band’s history on record before it ends. He covers their beginnings in Fontana, their place in the SoCal deathcore revival, life on tour, and an honest account of why the band is breaking up.
This week are joined by Jay Gonzalez and Ethan Enslow of the new revival deathcore band WhatIBleedIsYours. With their debut single "Searching For Hope" making the rounds and getting accolades from all over the scene, we thought it'd be fitting to document the band's early trajectory. We talk about recording & shooting a music video with members of Rev3rent, the 2 year prep before launching the single, playing music while still being in highschool, the Inland Empire scene, video games, anime & so much more.
Kane Gelznik, mastermind / vocalist behind Vomit Forth, sits down with us this week to chat about everything Silent Hill, pit etiquette, secret mosh parts, childhood idols, VFW shows, leaving Satanism & re-finding god, heavy music trends & so much more.
This week we are joined by Steve Regan, frontman of OG UK deathcore band Annotations Of An Autopsy. We talk about his vocal inspirations, the band's origin story, everything about the early demos & the Welcome To Sludge City EP, edgy lyrical themes, subsequent records & style changes, the band's reunion, new music & so much more.
This week we are joined by Vulvodynia's brand new vocalist Maya Pobst. We chat about everything from her journey auditioning for the band to learning their entire setlist & playing her first tour in Europe within a matter of weeks. We also talk about the new song Twin Tyrants, the challenges of being trans in the metal scene, her rise on social media, vocal olympics, modern deathcore & so much more.
