In this episode I’m talking about something that’s deeply personal yet universally human: the courage to share your truth. Sometimes the weight we carry, like shame, fear, embarrassment, or unspoken experiences, can hold us back from living fully. Sharing your truth doesn’t have to be dramatic or performative, it is about creating space to release, reflect, and heal. We’re talking about: Why holding onto your truth can feel like survival but may also block your growth The importance of having a supportive inner circle and trustworthy allies Ways to safely share your truth including journaling, therapy, creative expression, or just showing up authentically How black women, historically and culturally, have had to mask their truths and why reclaiming space to be fully human is an act of self-care Navigating the highs and lows, the valleys and peaks, of life while honoring your own journey This episode is an invitation to let go of the pressure to be perfect, to stop bottling things up for survival, and to explore ways to express yourself safely and honestly.

This epside is for the eldest daughter who had to put her life and joy on hold to carry the weight of adult responsibilities on her shoulders. Ok, so I stand corrected. The writings shared weren't about "sensuality" per se, but Erotic as Power. I still suggest you read it when you have time to linger this month. Here it is: The Uses of the Erotic by Audre Lorde Also, join me on substack! Upgrade your free membership for $9/month to unlock private audios as well as the bookclub. I have a confession to make. A few days ago, my old survival brain started panicking about business metrics, and I frantically sat down to plan a massive, exhausting 90-day challenge. My plan was to force myself to show up on camera at 5:00 AM every single morning until the end of the year to feed the algorithm. That wasn't how I looked at it initially, but that's what it was. Let's talk about the trap of the "unintentional scramble"—how fear tries to trick us into running back to the hustle when we make space to be still/slow down/do less, and why the most radical thing a Black woman in her midlife can do right now is refuse to be a mule for the system. Put your phone on do-not-disturb, grab your tea, and let's talk about how we are going to unlabor and choose peace for the rest of this year. I'm writing more about rebuilding my life in my mid-life. Join me on Substack Putting on my auntie/much older sister hat on for this episode. Got a listener question recently from a young mother. She is working, about to go to school, and raising a young daugher on her own. On top of that the father of her child is "not the nicest." In her question she asks if things will ever get easier. You may be solo parenting, balancing an impossible load, or in the middle of a season where your energy is drained. This conversation is your reminder to remember your value and to also release the guilt you may be experiencing for decisions you made that didn't go as expected. Let's talk about protecting your peace around unhelpful co-parents, and practice practical "micro-self-care" when you have zero free time,
