We’ve created an idea that being “regulated” means being calm, peaceful and grounded all the time.
But life doesn’t work like that and neither do we.
In this episode, I explore a very different way of understanding nervous system regulation: not as the ability to stay calm, but as the flexibility to move through the different states that real life requires of us.
Because sometimes fear is appropriate. Sometimes anger has something to tell us. Sometimes we need activation. And sometimes nothing is wrong at all.
The goal isn’t to become less human. It’s to develop the capacity to experience more of being human without needing to immediately fix, suppress or escape what we feel.
