My Favorite Lyrics with Devon WalkerShow Notes
Self-proclaimed Swiftie, creator, actor, and podcaster Jake Shane brings some earnest lyrics to Devon on the show this week. The duo bond over their love of Kacey Musgraves’ “Golden Hour,” Summer Walker’s album covers, and their shared appreciation for Amy Winehouse.
Jake Shane is a comedian, digital entertainer, and cultural voice whose work embodies curiosity, humor, and emotional intelligence. Since his meteoric rise in 2023, he has built a devoted audience of more than five million followers by blending sharp comedy with sincerity, exploring identity, relationships, and the absurdities of modern life in ways that feel both reflective and wildly entertaining. He was named a 2025 Webby Award winner for Best Comedy Creator and has been recognized by Forbes, The Hollywood Reporter, Rolling Stone, and People as one of the most influential creators shaping culture today.
As the host of the hit podcast Therapuss with Jake Shane, Jake has created a space where artists, creators, and cultural figures come together for candid, funny, and deeply human conversations. The show reached number three on Spotify’s Top Comedy Podcasts and number eight overall following its premiere and has since been named to Vogue’s Best Podcasts of the Year and Apple Podcasts’ 20th Anniversary list.
Beyond podcasting, Jake has expanded his career into acting with a growing slate of film and television work. He made his television acting debut with a recurring guest star role on season four of Hacks, with The Wall Street Journal praising his performance opposite Jean Smart as “a bright foil to her droll delivery.” He also appears in the upcoming feature film Wishful Thinking, a comedy starring Randall Park and Kate Berlant. In addition, he is developing and set to star in a Hulu comedy series inspired by his own life, marking a major next chapter in his creative evolution.
Onstage, Jake has completed two sold-out North American comedy tours, including a 36-city run that culminated in a sold-out performance at Radio City Music Hall. Jake also made his Broadway debut alongside Ray Romano and Nicholas Braun in All Out: Comedy About Ambition by Simon Rich, a testament to his appeal across live and digital audiences alike.
