Dr. Christopher Kaczor is the president of the American Catholic Philosophical Association, professor of philosophy at Loyola Marymount University, and author of the new book “Vital Conflicts,” which explores three of the most controversial issues in bioethics—abortion, transgender, and claims of conscience. He joins Andrew Petiprin today to discuss this new book and the bioethical issues it covers. In particular, Dr. Kaczor discusses how to have a fruitful conversation with people on these topics, and he highlights one of his favorite arguments against abortion that came from an atheist. He and Andrew also dive deeper into the mind/body problem that plagues these issues of human sexuality. This conversation and corresponding book are a great resource for people who are interested in the Catholic position on these matters and for Catholics who want to know more about the arguments behind the Church’s teachings.
