Measure Up with SRO

Filling the shelves: Kayla Worrall returns with a supply chain update

Measure Up with SRO

Show Notes

Kayla Worrall first appeared on the podcast in Season 1, and now she's back to tell Pete what's changed with the Ramsey product expansion globally. Product is moving off the shelves faster than she can look at it. As SRO Technology’s Supply Chain Manager, Kayla has grown her team, reworked processes, and added resources to keep pace with what SRO is building, assembling, and quality checking. She talks about the products SRO is now in a position to consider that weren't on the table a year ago, and makes a case for restraint: saying “no” to what can't be delivered properly, rather than saying “yes” and failing. A standard order for a couple of belt scales turned into the fastest build in SRO Technology's history - out the door in two weeks, a turnaround that would have been unthinkable twelve months earlier. Project Manager Corey Sabey, who came to SRO via the Williams F1 pit crew and assembly line, tells Pete how the team got there together: learning the old Ramsey products, juggling twists and turns, and never quite reaching the point where things settle down. He also looks ahead to SRO's new manufacturing trial in South Africa and a distributor network built to take capacity well beyond Australia. Love the discussion and want to hear more? What is actually back on the market for Ramsey and, without giving away too many secrets… what is coming soon? Matt Rozyn, SRO Technology's Research and Development Manager, gives Pete the full status report. The MicroTech 9000 was the first product returned to full production, but getting the option cards there meant finding local manufacturers, sourcing alternative components, and redrawing entire boards from scratch. Matt walks through the 9101, 9201, 9301 and 9301D, the 105 Weigh Feeder and the Flex range - including the two new Plus and Pro variants built directly off what customers told SRO was going wrong in the field. Paula Frisk has been with Ramsey for 33 years. She worked her way up through the business in the United States, working with the product line right through to the day it was discontinued. She's seen the brand through more chapters than almost anyone. Paula joins Pete from the US to talk about the family-oriented culture of the early years, the relationships that have outlasted the company structures around them, and the phone calls she's had from old customers who can't wait to get their hands on Ramsey equipment again. This is an episode you cannot miss. Love the discussion and want to hear more? Hit 'follow' on your fav podcast channel and tell us what you enjoyed. Stephen Labram was twelve when he first walked onto the Ramsey factory floor, tagging along with his father during school holidays. The big blue Weigh Feeder with its inlet hopper looked, to a kid, like the most complicated thing in the world. Three decades later he's the man designing them. Stephen talks to Pete about the leap from factory foreman to field service technician, why you only really learn a machine once you've seen it working on site, and what that hard-won knowledge means for the Ramsey products SRO Technology is bringing back today.
