Amy's feeling disappointed, envious, and curious while Kat is just feeling conflicted. Plus: Amy shares an important PSA about Instagram reposts (go check your page, you never know what's on there), Kat tells us why one etiquette expert says "congratulations" on an engagement is actually a faux pas, TSA-approved airport hammocks for your next long layover, a genius gift idea involving printed group texts, and a 70-year-old's texting code cheat sheet that will have you dying laughing (BYOT = Bring Your Own Teeth). Also, this week's Hasbro Moment honors a school counselor whose office full of games has become a safe space for kids to open up, calm down, and feel seen. We're also continuing our Hasbro Moment series, this week honoring a school librarian who creates a true sense of community for her students, and celebrating how games like Jenga, Scrabble, and Trivial Pursuit sneak in real learning through play. Hasbro is sponsoring Feeling Things for 8 weeks, celebrating back to school by getting families around the table with games again. Even better: they're helping us honor amazing teachers! Know one? Email [email protected] or call 877-207-2077, they could get featured on the show, plus a $500 Walmart gift card from Hasbro for classroom supplies. Grab your favorite Hasbro games like Candy Land, Chutes and Ladders, Hi Ho! Cherry-O & more at Walmart.com!

More from Feeling Things with Amy & Kat
A listener is feeling a little blah, so Amy and Kat are here to help. On paper, life looks great: the house, the kids, the routines. But something feels stuck. Is it an early midlife crisis, or just part of being in your 30s? The girls talk about how even a beautiful life can feel a bit flat sometimes, why that’s completely normal, and how to go out and create a spark instead of waiting for one to find you. Have a question for us? Send it our way and we might answer it on the show!
Kat is out on maternity leave with her sweet new baby, Zoey, so Chase is filling in! Amy shares why she’s grateful for Chase, and Chase opens up about his own feeling of the day, while admitting he wasn’t even sure feelings were real. Turns out they are; they just aren’t facts. Let them ride shotgun, but don’t put them in the driver’s seat… ya know?? This one is a totally free-flowing conversation, and it goes everywhere: what it was like sitting next to Nicole Kidman during a movie, the great no-shoes-in-the-house debate (Chase HATES that Amy made this a rule), and why Chase thinks about death a lot while Amy… really doesn’t. I watched my two young kids have their first experience with monetizing their art and I walked away with one conclusion. Art deserves to be celebrated, sold and reciprocated (financially). I haven’t always felt this way. I’ve wrestled with the question of what art is worth. Or rather, I’ve felt a strange need to keep my creativity and capitalism separated. But in today’s episode, I’ll share why I think it matters that you not just see your art as valuable in general — but as worth actual dollars. In what ways can you sell your art without shame? Aime McKnee
A listener asked us to talk about something so many women quietly carry: the weight of the household, especially the financial responsibility and the pressure that comes with it. Plus, a few of our favorite financial voices to follow on IG. We're also answering a question from a 38-year-old mom who has lots of friends but no "best friend." Is that normal? And should she have one? Kat shares a book recommendation that might change how you think about your people. And we have an update that made us so proud: a listener who was nervous about leaving her little girl for the first time ended up deployed on an earthquake relief mission and shares what got her through. Have a question for us? Send it our way and we might answer it on the show!
Ever been in a terrible mood and couldn't figure out why? Amy was falling apart until she remembered a simple check-in she learned for her kids years ago: H.A.L.T. Are you hungry, angry, lonely, or tired? Twenty minutes and one snack later, she was a new woman. Plus, what to say instead of "it's OK" when it really isn't, the texts to send this week if you're craving more community, and five brilliant people-handling tricks from a grandma who ran a psych ward for 35 years. We're also talking pineapple peel tea, the old-school curb walking trick, and quizzing Kat on dating lingo. Do you know what breadcrumbing and shrekking mean? Play along and see how you score!
