Ciao Bella, There's a rule book you've probably been following for years. The funny thing is... you never agreed to it. Nobody handed it to you. Nobody asked you to sign it. And yet, somewhere along the way, you learned there were certain things you were no longer "allowed" to wear, certain ways you were supposed to dress, and certain parts of yourself you were expected to make smaller after 50. Well, girlfriend... I'm ready to tear up that rule book. Welcome back to Style Secrets After 50. I'm Traci Jeske, your pink style muse and international personal stylist, and today we're doing something I've wanted to do for a very long time. We're breaking the rules. Because who made these rules anyway? And more importantly... Why are we still following them? After nearly 30 years of styling women, I've seen these rules show up in real women's closets over and over again. I've seen beautiful colors sitting untouched because someone decided they're "too much." I've seen sparkle pushed to the back of the wardrobe, waiting for an occasion that never comes. I've seen women reaching for the same black, gray, and safe outfits, not necessarily because they love them, but because they feel safer disappearing into them. These rules aren't just living in our heads. They're taking up physical space in our closets, too. What if the thing holding back your style isn't a lack of taste... but a set of rules that were never yours to begin with? In this episode, we'll explore:
The outdated style rules women over 50 are still following without even realizing it. Why getting older can make us feel like we should become less visible The colors, sparkle, and style choices you've been told are "too much" How to approach trends on your own terms The difference between hiding your body and styling your body in a way that makes you feel wonderful in it. Why comfort and style don't have to be a choice between two different things.
Today’s episode is an invitation to:
Question the rules you've been following simply because someone told you they were appropriate. Give yourself permission to be seen, instead of automatically shrinking, covering up, or blending into the background. Rediscover the parts of your style you've been hiding and bring them back into your wardrobe and your life. Choose trends, colors, comfort, and style on your own terms instead of letting your age make the decisions for you.
Because when you remove those rules, something beautiful can happen. The woman who thought she'd lost her style may realize that dressing beautifully isn't about trying to get attention... but honoring the woman God created her to be. And Girlfriend, I've Got Some Homework for You... I'm giving you a very simple challenge in this episode. You're going to look back at the seven rules we talk about and find the one you didn't even realize you were following. The one that's become so automatic that you've never stopped to question it. That's the one I want you to break. And when you do, come into our private Style Secrets After 50 Facebook community and tell me which rule you broke and how it felt. I want to hear your story, girlfriend! Ready to Own Your Style Again? Wondering how to become stylish after 50 when your current closet feels tired, old, and boring? In this episode of Style Secrets After 50, international personal stylist Traci Jeske hands you the complete wardrobe makeover roadmap to rebuild your style from the ground up. If you are standing in front of a packed closet feeling like you have nothing to wear, it’s time to stop chasing trends and discover a signature style that actually feels like you.
I'm so excited you're joining me for another episode of Style Secrets After 50! Whether you're a longtime listener or you're just discovering the podcast, welcome! I'm Traci Jeske, international personal stylist, TV style expert, Italy-based style icon, and your guide to helping you rediscover confidence, refine your personal style, and step boldly into every season of life. With nearly 30 years of experience styling women around the world, I've learned that looking stylish while traveling isn't about packing more clothes. It's about knowing which pieces work for you and how to make them work together. So… Have you ever stood over an open suitcase, packed half your wardrobe, struggled to close the zip, and still arrived at your destination wondering what on earth you're going to wear? You pack five tops for one dinner. Extra shoes for every possible occasion. Several outfits just in case you change your mind. And somehow, after hauling everything to your hotel, you still feel like you have nothing to wear?! Here's what I want you to know: more clothes are not the answer. The right clothes are. In this episode, I'm showing you how to pack for a two-night, three-day business trip in a single carry-on, with stylish outfits for the plane, meetings, speaking engagements, and dinner, without repeating a look. And the best part? This isn't just a packing list. It's a system you can use for every trip, whether you're travelling for business, heading for a girls' getaway, enjoying a romantic weekend with your husband, going on a city break, or visiting the grandchildren. Once you understand how to choose pieces that work together, packing for any trip becomes simpler, smarter, and far less stressful. In this episode, we'll answer questions like:
So… have you opened your closet lately and realized it’s become a little... colorless? Maybe there’s plenty of black. A little gray. Some beige. Maybe a lot of neutrals. And you didn’t necessarily choose for it to happen. It just happened slowly, quietly, one safe choice at a time. Maybe life got hard. Maybe you went through a divorce, an empty nest, a loss, a diagnosis, or simply a long, exhausting season where getting dressed was the last thing you had energy for. So you reached for what was easy and somewhere along the way, color started disappearing from your wardrobe. In this episode, we’re talking about what that might actually mean and, more importantly, how you can begin finding your color again.

For nearly 30 years, I've been helping women rediscover their confidence and show up boldly as the woman God created them to be. And today, we're talking about a habit you probably never thought belonged in the same conversation as exercise and nutrition. But I believe it does. We all know the two habits we're told matter for our health: move your body and fuel it well. But there's a third habit you practice every single day, one that can shape how you feel before your coffee even kicks in: how you get dressed. Now, I know what you're thinking. Getting dressed? Alongside exercise and nutrition? Stay with me… In this episode, we'll answer questions like:
Maybe you’ve done this yourself. You see something beautiful, you love it, you bring it home... and somehow, it just doesn’t work with anything else in your closet. Then a few weeks later, you’re back in the store buying something similar.
