On this episode of the Acid For Squares podcast, hosts Cody Blue and Tanya Dahl share one of the most personal and unprecedented conversations in the history of the show with Cody’s father, Dee Snider, legendary rock frontman and lead singer of Twisted Sister.
After a lifetime of sobriety, Dee made a decision he never imagined he would make. In a deeply intentional act of healing, he chose to sit in his first-ever mushroom ceremony. Not to escape. Not to chase a high. But to finally address wounds he had carried quietly for decades.
Episode #79 is structured as a rare before-and-after testimony. Before the ceremony, Dee speaks openly about why he is doing this, what he hopes to heal, and what it feels like to step into the unknown after a life built on discipline and control. After the ceremony, he returns changed, describing the experience in vivid detail. He shares the visions that came through, the emotions that surfaced, and the healing that unfolded in ways he did not expect and could not have planned.
This is a powerful, intimate journey into trust, vulnerability, and the courage it takes to face yourself honestly, even after a lifetime of strength, offering a rare glimpse into how these medicines can help heal individuals, mend families, and change lives.
