Life In The Rearview Mirror

Lyrics Below-I wrote this song as a reflection on the road of my life and the generations that have traveled it with me. I look back at being young, growing older, raising children, becoming a grandfather, and finally saying goodbye to my own father. Some memories seem like yesterday, while others remind me how quickly the years have passed.

At the center of it all is my faith in Jesus Christ. The road has been long, but I have come to see that faith and patience keep drawing us nearer to the Holy City and the Kingdom of our Lord. The rear-view mirror holds the people, moments, joys, losses, and lessons behind me, but I am still looking forward. My prayer is that my family will continue on that narrow road together until we are all reunited in eternity.

[verse 1 ] I Was Young And Saw The Rising Sun Older Now And Day Is Almost Done Saw An Answer And I Caught It In The Wind A Man Died On A Cross For My Sin

[Chorus] I've Seen Life In The Rear-view Mirror It's A Long Road On The Narrow Way Faith And Patience Will Get You Nearer The Holy City The Kingdom Of Our Lord [Instrumental 4 bars- guitar plays the motif , no singing]

[Verse 2] I Was A Boy Staring In The Night Sky Years Later, My Little Girl Staring At The Moon “La Luna, Papa! I Can Almost Touch It” Those Days Of Wonder Went By Too Soon

[Chorus] I've Seen Life In The Rear-view Mirror It's A Long Road On The Narrow Way Faith And Patience Will Get You Nearer The Holy City The Kingdom Of Our Lord

[Verse 3] "Grandpa Can You Sing Me One Of Your Songs?" It Makes Me Happy Just To Sing Along Kids All Grown It's Just Mama And Me The Two Of Us Praying For Our Family

[Chorus] I've Seen Life In The Rear-view Mirror It's A Long Road On The Narrow Way Faith And Patience Will Get You Nearer The Holy City The Kingdom Of Our Lord [Instrumental 4 bars- guitar plays the motif , no singing]

[Verse 4] “I Love You, Dad,” I Said As He Closed His Eyes Then His Great-grandkids Said Their Last Goodbyes His Treasures On This Earth Were His Family To Be Reunited With Him In Eternity

[Chorus] I've Seen Life In The Rear-view Mirror It's A Long Road On The Narrow Way Faith And Patience Will Get You Near The Holy City The Kingdom Of Our Lord

Lyrics Below — **“I Never Want to Leave You, Lord”** is a personal prayer to remain faithful to Jesus Christ and a declaration of why I never want to turn away from Him. Having experienced His love, goodness, mercy, and transforming power, I know that nothing this world has to offer could ever replace the joy and satisfaction of knowing Him. His presence has become more precious to me than anything else, and the thought of living apart from Him is something I cannot bear.

Built around intricate acoustic guitar fingerpicking, rich piano, Fender Rhodes, Hammond organ, expressive electric guitar, melodic bass, fiddle, congas, and natural three-part vocal harmonies, the arrangement captures the organic warmth and musical craftsmanship of classic singer-songwriter folk-rock.

Lyrics Below.“I See the Lord” is a majestic, uplifting song of praise inspired by the biblical vision of the Lord seated upon His throne, high and lifted up, as the angels proclaim His holiness. Rooted in the imagery of Isaiah 6 and the heavenly worship described in Revelation, the song celebrates the eternal glory, faithfulness, and unchanging nature of Yahweh.
