Jen speaks with Rev. Robert Smith about Marc Ellis's book Judaism Does Not Equal Israel. Smith, a former student of Ellis, discusses his mentor's legacy as a Jewish liberation theologian and explores the flawed "ecumenical deal" in Jewish-Christian dialogue. The conversation connects Ellis's decades-old prophetic critiques to the current crisis in Palestine-Israel and the responsibility of faith communities to engage critically.
