“Maybe all the people who say ghosts don’t exist are just afraid to admit that they do.” - Michael Ende, “The Neverending Story”
Pop culture has long tapped into the unsettling power of children in horror from Haley Joel Osment whispering “I see dead people” in "The Sixth Sense" to Linda Blair screaming “Mother!” as Pazuzu takes control in "The Exorcist". There’s something uniquely terrifying about kids as a vehicle for the supernatural. Maybe it’s because children are the most innocent among us. They aren’t weighed down by social norms or skepticism; they live in a liminal space where fantasy and reality blur together.
So when they see something (or someone) that adults cannot, we’re forced to wonder: is this imagination… or something darker?
In this episode, M recounts 10 true stories of people who encountered ghosts as children or whose children were haunted by the unseen.

A dark shape at the foot of the bed, a figure in the hallway that was not there a moment ago, or something peeking around the corner.
"We are terrified by the idea of being terrified." - Friedrich Nietzsche
Every day, thousands of people comb over the racks and shelves of thrift stores, looking at items once worn or loved by other people.
There's a particular kind of isolation that comes with rural land. Ranches can stretch across hundreds of acres, with no neighbours or other signs of life for miles in any direction, just open sky, empty fields, and silence.
3 a.m. is famously known as “The Witching Hour”, the time of night when the veil between our world and the supernatural is said to become thin, and people report paranormal or demonic encounters.
