Last weekend, Press X was invited by Jagex to RuneFest 2026. We sent our resident RuneScape expert, Producer Owen, and RuneScape noob, Producer Matt, to take in everything on offer. We spoke to Jon Bellamy, CEO at Jagex, about the massive announcement of the new MMO, RuneScape 4, as well as a brand-new animated series made in collaboration with Charlie White (aka MoistCr1tikal) and Lyrical Animation. We also sat down with developers from all three games—RuneScape, Old School RuneScape, and RuneScape: Dragonwilds—to discuss their love for the franchise and what players can look forward to next. Stay tuned for a fun video showcasing everything else our team got up to, releasing on YouTube in the coming weeks. A huge thanks to Jagex for having us out for an incredible weekend with an amazing community!
