Join host Phillip Ruane and Environments’ Director of Technology, Rob Groff as they reflect on the contributions of the late George Mueller and look to the future of LED lighting and powerful smart buildings. George Mueller was a pioneer of LED lighting technology and a co-founder of Color Kinetics, a leading producer of dynamic architectural lighting systems. Mueller passed away last month in March of 2021.
Rob Groff, having worked for Color Kinetics before the company went public, takes time to recall his experiences working alongside George Mueller and details some of the many ways that Color Kinetics helped to create and foster current LED lighting technology.
In celebrating George Mueller’s contributions, Phil and Rob also consider the trajectory of IoT technologies and the importance of using sensors to collect data.
Why are IoT technologies so desirable? How can data change the way we live? Listen in to find out!
More from Elevated Environments
At Environments, we connect people to places and things to improve the lives of humankind. Join us this month as we introduce Elevated Environments, Environments’ proprietary IoT integration software aimed at making intelligent and accessible spaces. With Elevated Environments, anything is possible.
Join us this month as we discuss the importance of reliable and intelligent testing for your emergency lighting systems. We can’t predict emergencies, but we certainly can prepare! Luckily, there’s a simple and smart way to ensure that your emergency and wayfinding systems are up-to-speed.
Join us this week as we discuss the exiting new technology of viral load sensing! Host Phil Ruane talks to Kevin Walsh from Opteev, a Baltimore-based company focused on IoT technologies for air quality, about how viral load sensing works and how it can and will improve so many corners of our lives. Can viral load sensors detect COVID cases? What would that kind of information and knowledge do for our workplaces and communities? Come explore Opteev’s ViraWarn technology.
Join host Phil Ruane and special guest Gretchen Schimelpfenig of the Resource Innovation Institute in an exploration of Controlled Environment Agriculture, otherwise known as CEA. Relying heavily on lighting technologies, air quality controls and more, CEA is an indoor agricultural method that provides the ability to precisely control a crop’s yield and production time, thus offering immense flexibility and benefit.
Join host Phil Ruane and special guest Todd Laudeman of ENSCO. Inc. as we explore the wonderful world of sensors. Phil and Todd share knowledge and compare various technologies and sensor use cases, diving into the ways that sensors can work in various environments and sectors… from detecting crime and human trafficking, to cleaning the air in an office space!
