What would you do if you had to give birth in the middle of a war?
In this episode, I sit down with Natalia, a Ukrainian mother of two, to hear her incredible story of freebirthing her second child during the 2022 Russian invasion.
After one homebirth, Natalia chose to walk an even more radical path with her second—preparing to give birth without medical support, while bombs dropped around her and sirens became part of daily life.
What’s most striking is that on the day her son was born, the chaos paused. For the first time in weeks, there was silence. A stillness descended over her city, allowing Natalia to give birth in a sacred bubble of peace amidst the war. A divine mercy.
We speak candidly about what it was like to prepare for a physiological birth during trauma and survival mode. We explore how she tended to herself postpartum while navigating a broken system that refused to acknowledge her birth. We talk about stopping her hemorrhage, the bureaucratic battle to register her baby, and the heartbreaking search for breast milk when her body struggled to produce.
This conversation is a living testament to maternal instinct, spiritual resilience, and the unshakable power of sovereign birth—even in the most unimaginable of circumstances.

Grace shares the story of choosing a wild pregnancy and freebirth, transferring to the hospital during labor, and discovering after the birth that she had been carrying twins. She recounts the loss of one baby, the NICU stay of his surviving twin, and the family’s efforts to navigate grief and hospital care while honoring their boundaries. Grace also reflects on faith, motherhood after loss, and the birth of her daughter in a later pregnancy. This is a story that sits with the complexity of grief and how love, praise, and heartache coexist.
Gabrielle shares her two unassisted births, from a casual, confident mountain birth to an intense hot tub labor, and what trusting her body's natural rhythm taught her both times. Along the way, she talks about building a real women's circle, the kind that shows up with groceries and childcare, not just encouragement. This one is for anyone questioning mainstream birth norms and curious about what becomes possible when a woman stops managing her body and starts trusting it.
Jenna McConkey shares the intimate story of her freebirth after miscarriage and years of inner work. Jenna speaks on trust, surrender, the illusion of safety, and the subconscious beliefs that surfaced during her labor.
Two babies. Two free births. Two radically different initiations into motherhood. Liv shares the extraordinary story of trusting her body, her intuition, and her children to guide how she gave birth and built her family.
The difference between a managed birth and a truly lived one can change everything. Gracie shares how a pregnancy that began with fear, false alarms, and a medical system that never seemed to stop escalating led her to question what she was actually consenting to - and what women lose when they hand over their authority. From a terrifying early call about spina bifida markers that turned out to be wrong, to a midwife who opened labor with criticism instead of care, Gracie’s first birth exposes how easily pregnant women can be steered, managed, and emotionally destabilized. But her second pregnancy and freebirth tell a radically different story.
