Ep 134: Sean Jefferson: "How Elizabethan Magic granted me the Vision of Fairie"

We hear how symbolist artist Sean Jefferson, was called into painting via an Enochian magic ritual and the unfolding of his innate Spiritualist Mediumship which eventually led to his connection with the Ruralist movement (The Brotherhood of Ruralists).

We take a look at some of Sean's paintings and discuss his relationship with the characters in these images, how the paintings themselves come into form via automatic painting and the range of visceral responses to the images.

Sean is giving a free talk on the visionary art of nineteenth century painter, Richard Dadd at Messums Gallery, St James London on Wednesday 29th July:
