Oct. 7 didn't end. The survivors still can't go back to work. Three years after Hamas murdered and kidnapped civilians at the Nova music festival and in places like Kibbutz Be'eri, the New York Post checked on the people who lived. Recovery is not what they found. Nova survivor Rom El-Hai, 32, hid in a forest while gunfire passed. He came out without his job, his girlfriend, or his friends, and he says the PTSD and depression are still intense. People tell survivors that making it out means life snaps back. It did not. Photographer Shye Klein still cannot shoot events. A DJ stopping the music sends his heart racing, because that silence is what he heard when the killing started. UJA Federation of New York CEO Eric Goldstein says only 20% of Nova survivors have kept continuous work for more than three months. A large number are out of work. Some are homeless, living in cars, with no financial support. Former hostage Evyatar David, held 738 days, separated the two fights: surviving captivity is one thing and full rehabilitation is another. Tribe of Nova CEO Seth Davis says the anxiety runs deeper now than a year ago, because the outside world already moved on. Klein's line should stick: It is never going to go back to normal, for anybody.

More from Pat Gray Unleashed
Trump just did something Biden never managed: He got a 74-year-old American out of a Russian prison after more than four years, and he didn’t have to hand over a single prisoner in return. Stephen Hubbard, a retired Michigan teacher and Air Force/National Guard veteran who had been living in Ukraine, was detained by Russian forces in April 2022 and later sentenced to nearly seven years on mercenary charges his family has long called fabricated. The State Department eventually designated him wrongfully detained. For years, his family watched the case stall. Then last week, Trump raised Hubbard’s name directly with Putin on a phone call. On Wednesday, while envoy Steve Witkoff was meeting Putin in St. Petersburg, Hubbard was released and taken to the airport. Trump called it unprecedented — “out of respect for President Trump,” no swap required — and immediately added the line that will stick: Biden should have done this long ago. “What a difference a president makes.”
Texas parents are opening their mailboxes to find unsolicited envelopes addressed to the “students” in their household from something calling itself the Texas Transgender Student Union. The enclosed guide walks minors through what to do if their parents aren’t supportive of a “trans” identity: find a “safe adult” like a teacher or counselor, pursue legal emancipation as young as 16, and look for out-of-state medical care for hormones. It even tells kids that groups are ready to become their “found family.” The timing is hard to ignore. The mailers started showing up as early voting opened for the November 3 election. The sender traces to a limited liability company formed in Wyoming on September 2 with a registered-agent address used by hundreds of thousands of shell companies and a return address near Houston that doesn’t check out. The Transgender Education Network of Texas, whose name and links appear throughout the brochure, says it did not author, authorize, or distribute the mailers or the earlier text campaign that used its branding. Sara Gonzales posted photos after one arrived at her home and called it evil. No one has publicly claimed responsibility.
A campaign official for Michigan U.S. Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed just admitted on hidden camera that El-Sayed receives illegal overseas donations. James O’Keefe’s undercover video shows regional field organizer Abdoul Beckwith saying, “You know, he has people from overseas that donate to him,” then confirming, “No it is not allowed.” He describes the pass-through: Overseas money goes to a family member, who then gives it to the campaign, adding “Everybody does it!” This is the exact foreign-national contribution ban under 52 U.S.C. § 30121. Beckwith also tells the undercover journalist that El-Sayed cannot openly reject Hamas or the Muslim Brotherhood “because he’s going to lose the people that brought him up in the first place.” He warns that denouncing the Muslim Brotherhood would make Muslim supporters think El-Sayed is “siding with the genociders,” and he claims white and Jewish staffers will eventually “hijack” the candidate. The Michigan Democratic Party has already terminated Beckwith after the footage surfaced.
The night before far-left rioters torched Limoges’ historic town hall and French cities erupted in looting and arson, President Emmanuel Macron was at a Celine Dion concert in Nanterre. On Friday, he sat among roughly 35,000 spectators after days in Brussels. On Saturday, the protests over school conditions, teacher shortages, inequality, and the rising cost of living turned into the worst unrest in years. Masked far-left groups smashed their way into the 19th-century Limoges town hall, set it ablaze, and brought down the clock tower and belfry. The mayor called it a premeditated arson attack and said people inside feared for their lives. Nationwide, nearly 1,800 people were arrested, more than 500 police, gendarmes, and firefighters were injured, shops were looted, and public buildings were targeted. Macron later issued statements condemning the violence and promising prosecutions, but the optics of the concert the night before have drawn the obvious criticism: He doesn’t act like he cares that the country is burning. The full hour digs into the sequence, the far-left role in the destruction, the mayor’s fury over the lack of protection, and what the indifference means.
A 16-year-old walked into Silver Rail Elementary in Bend, Oregon, just after 1 p.m. Thursday and murdered three children — ages 5, 8, and 11 — and a teacher. Another child and a teacher were left in critical condition. He forced entry by shooting at the locked doors with his mother’s shotgun. Then a student’s dad who saw him go in pursued him inside and ended it. Dispatch audio caught what happened before officers even cleared the building: The shooter had been neutralized, possibly by a father at the school. Bend Police Chief Mike Krantz later confirmed that a community member who watched the suspect enter followed him in and engaged him. The teen was dead when police arrived, roughly three minutes after the first calls. Oregon Governor Tina Kotek (D) thanked the community member who “heroically intervened to stop further loss of life.” This is the story that keeps getting buried under the usual script. Locked doors did not stop the shooter. A legally armed parent did. The same people who insist that only law enforcement can handle these moments now have another case where a civilian was already inside and finished the job before the first officer reached the hallway.
