[#299] CONTRA IX: The Pope Must Die

Subliminal Jihad

Show Notes

At long last, Dimitri and Khalid return to the CONTRA meta-series well to answer two not-so-simple questions: who was behind the nearly successful 1981 assassination of Pope John Paul II by the shadowy Turkish hitman/Grey Wolf fanatic Mehmet Ali Ağca, and why did they do it?

Western media at the time would have us believe that a shadowy “Bulgarian Connection”, masterminded by the Soviet KGB, put a hit on the anti-communist Polish Pope to terminate his disruptive influence in the Eastern Bloc - but this calls to mind CIA Director William Casey’s alleged 1981 declaration that “we’ll know our disinformation campaign is complete when everything the American public believes is false”.

Indeed, the overall evidence leads us somewhere quite different: straight into the vipers’ nest of 1980s Iran-Contra arms-for-heroin deals, Vatican Bank mafia money laundering, Licio Gelli’s Propaganda Due, Operation Gladio false flag terrorism, CIA media manipulation, and the global neo-fascist plot to bring down the Soviet Union by any means necessary…
