On January 3, 2024, Anastasi began experiencing hearing loss problems in his left ear. After several medical exams and medications, thinking it was only an infection, nothing seemed to work to restore Anastasi's hearing. A musician before he was a teenager, Anastasi aspired to be a rock star, accomplishing his goal over 30 years ago, he continued performing with his bands FaceFirstNYC and KISSNATION without interruption for to the hearing loss. However, a shocking event occurred on May 23, 2024, when he awoke feeling dizzy and nauseous, finding he'd lost all hearing in his right ear, which lead to a diagnosis of sensorineural hearing loss, a sudden and profound change in the ability to hear.
