Ben and Alex are back to break down The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 3, Episode 5, “Imperialis,” as the struggle to rebuild Manhattan begins exposing some serious cracks beneath the surface.
This week, they dive into the formation of the wonderfully bizarre Dead Squad, the growing divide over how this new society should be governed, Dillard finally finding a group where he belongs, and the increasingly complicated dynamic between Maggie and Negan. But it's the episode's shocking final confrontation that really gets the conversation going, as Ben and Alex debate whether Negan crossed a line—or simply did what no one else was willing to do.
Plus, plenty of listener feedback, theories about the developing power struggle between Maggie, Renata and Negan, some speculation about where the final three episodes could take us, and the usual assortment of wonderfully inappropriate detours along the way.

Halloween is in the air, and we’re breaking from the rewatch for the new Friday the 13th prequel series, Crystal Lake, premiering this Thursday, October 15, on Peacock. We’ve seen the first couple of episodes, and I think you’re gonna like it! It’s surprisingly fun, with some dark comedy, and the great Linda Cardellini putting in an incredible performance as Pamela Voorhees. Even if you don’t usually like slasher flicks, I recommend giving this one a shot. Like with The Walking Dead, this series is about the characters.
Could Negan be more of a total piece of s#!t that he is in this episode. Good thing it was an extra long one, in case we didn’t have our fill. I (Jason) actually did think it was a good episode. But it made me wish they could’ve wrapped up the Savior war right quick though. Lucy’s away this ep, and so I’m to be joined by Alex to talk this one out!
