Amanpour

Show Notes

Canada and the European Union announced the start of a new relationship, setting Ottawa on the path to become the EU's first "associate member." The unprecedented transatlantic move comes after the United States has targeted its neighbor and old ally, imposing big tariffs and threatening to make it a 51st state. John Manley is Canada's former Deputy Prime Minister, Finance Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, and he joins Christiane from Ottawa to discuss what the announcement actually means.

Also on today's show: Anthony Gardner, Former US Ambassador to the EU; former Washington Governor Jay Inslee; author Jacob Weisberg ("Profiles in Cowardice")
