Summary
Pastor Jack Hibbs emphasizes the significance of the Holy Spirit as a guarantee of believers' salvation in his message titled "Are You Sealed by the Holy Spirit?" He explains that the Holy Spirit acts as a down payment from God, assuring believers of their eternal security and relationship with Christ. Hibbs draws from scripture, particularly Ephesians and Luke, to illustrate that the Holy Spirit is not only a comfort and guide but also a seal of ownership, marking believers as belonging to God.
Hibbs further elaborates on the concept of promises in the Bible, asserting that all of God's promises are affirmative and meant for believers. He encourages listeners to actively claim these promises in their lives, likening them to a "checkbook" of divine assurances that can be drawn upon in times of need. The pastor underscores the importance of trusting in God's word and the transformative power of the Holy Spirit, urging believers to embrace their identity as children of God, sealed and secured by the Holy Spirit.
