Hr: U hladno jesensko jutro, Ana je stajala na uskoj, kamenitoj ulici Rovinja. En: On a cold autumn morning, Ana stood on the narrow, cobbled street of Rovinj.

Hr: Zrak je bio vlažan i težak, a miris mora miješao se s prijetnjom kiše. En: The air was damp and heavy, and the smell of the sea mixed with the threat of rain.

Hr: Bio je 1. studeni, Dan svih svetih – poseban dan za sjećanje na mrtve. En: It was November 1st, All Saints' Day – a special day for remembering the dead.

Hr: Ana je došla ispuniti zadnju želju svoje bake. En: Ana had come to fulfill her grandmother's last wish.
