Janice Holden is a near-death-experience researcher who designed the first hospital experiment to catch consciousness outside the body, edits the Journal of Near-Death Studies and spent 31 years on the University of North Texas faculty. For nearly 40 years she has tested one claim: that patients whose hearts have stopped can see the room from above. Surgeons have corroborated some of those details. No controlled study has caught one yet.

Expect to learn: - The Leg In The Yellow Bag: an anaesthetised patient described an amputation in the next operating room - The Post-it Notes: a heart patient saw a detail only his surgeon would know - The Hidden-Target Experiment: pictures hidden near hospital ceilings, visible only from above - The Life Review: reliving every moment of your life as the people you affected - DMT Vs Near-Death: why the brain may interpret reality rather than create it
