Here's where we tell you how to find the recipe for Fjellbekk, the tales we told, and the podcast we mentioned!
The Booze:
Fjellbekk (Mountain Stream in Norwegian) -3/4 oz vodka -3/4 oz aquavit -3/4 oz lime juice -lemon lime soda to taste Mix vodka, aquavit, and lime juice in glass with ice, add lemon lime soda to taste. Very refreshing, citrus-y with interesting flavors, doesn't taste super alcoholic even though it's pretty potent! https://en.1001cocktails.com/cocktails/cocktail_fjellbekk-mountain-stream_362752.aspx https://everything2.com/title/Fjellbekk

We are giving away FREE STICKERS! If you want some, leave us a (hopefully nice so Lindsay doesn't cry) review on iTunes, take a screenshot, email that and your mailing address to [email protected], and we will mail you some stickers for free! Also, once we hit 100 iTunes reviews, we'll release a bonus episode with a listener selected creature! If you have any personal stories about creatures, monsters, or cryptids (even if you don't know what it was), please email us at [email protected] so we can eventually do a listener episode! SURPRISE! It's the most wonderful time of the year, so we just HAD to get an episode out to you. We are still working on new ones, so we're not quite back yet, but enjoy this episode while you're waiting. Madman Madriaga joins Logan via Skype (excuse the sound quality) to chat about Filipino ghost stories, the state of the world, Rat Roulette, how maybe 2020 is Logan's fault?, and much more!
In the mood for a ghost story? Of course you are! Telling ghost stories around a fire at Christmastime was a beloved tradition in the Victorian era...so it's kind of the perfect time for it! Come listen to Logan & Lindsay, along with the ladies of Straight-Up Enigmas (Jaden, @StraightEnigmas) and Boos and Spirits (Vanessa and Bailie, @BoosandSpirits) from our podcast network, Straight Up Strange Productions (StraightUpStrange.com), tell the spooky short story "Smee", by A.M. Burrage (written in 1931, obvs). Music: "Almost Winter" by Chuck Flyer Full text: https://archive.org/stream/Stage5A.M.BurrageGhostStories/Stage_5_-_A._M_._Burrage_-_Ghost_Stories__djvu.txt
Happy Holidays, from the Straight Up Strange Podcast Family! We collaborated with the other shows in our network to bring you a rendition of the poem "'Twas the Night Before Christmas" by Clement Clarke Moore. It warms our lil' hearts and we hope it brings you some holiday cheer and some new shows to listen to. Check them out at StraightUpStrange.com!
We are going to be taking a short hiatus due to lack of funds and being behind basically always - this will give us time to prep and record some stuff, and we'll be back on September 1st! Please subscribe to our Patreon, where we are uploading our solo folk tale narrations, or feel free to donate via the Paypal button on our website, folkloreontherocks.com. Anything helps! If you're not able to, we completely understand, and will be back in your ears soon enough! We love you all!
