The Nielson Show

Show Notes

Jamie McLennan kicked off today's show to dive headfirst into the opening night chaos with the fellas! Noodles broke down Tristan Jarry's Oilers debut and questioned whether his early struggles are cause for concern moving forward. He also highlighted Evan Bouchard's historic performance, Connor McDavid's usage throughout the night, and structural shifts from last season. To wrap it up, Noodles weighed in on who should get the start in net for Game 2.

We then gave our Early Bird Bet presented by Play Alberta.

In the middle of hour two we then gave some Free Advice for Damon Bunting. Plenty of good advice from the boys today.

We capped off hour two with Eric Macramalla. He shared his thoughts on last nights games as well as touched on the Oilers ongoing goaltending conversation… We finished with some baseball talk.

Jamie McLennan kicked off today's guest lineup, jumping straight into a breakdown of last night's thrilling overtime win and what makes this Oilers squad so fun to watch right now. The conversation quickly shifted to the crease, with Noodles evaluating Devon Levi—what sets him apart from previous Edmonton netminders of the McDavid era, and whether it's fair to label him the goalie of the future. The guys also looked down the ice at Minnesota's Jesper Wallstedt, discussing his potential to evolve into one of the league's elite goaltenders. To wrap things up, Noodles previewed tonight's marquee matchup in Ottawa as Brady Tkachuk makes his first emotional return to the nation's capital since being traded.
