Story Transcript:

Ga: San ospidéal i mBaile Átha Cliath, ar maidin samhraidh fómhair, bhí atmaisféar idir teannas agus spleodar le mothú. En: In the hospital in Baile Átha Cliath, on an autumn summer morning, there was an atmosphere of both tension and excitement to be felt.

Ga: Lasmuigh, bhí na duilleoga cré-umha ag titim go mall ó na crainn, ag tabhairt le tuiscint go raibh Samhain gar. En: Outside, the bronze leaves were slowly falling from the trees, hinting that Samhain was near.

Ga: Taobh istigh den ospidéal, bhí Niamh, Ronan, agus Aoife, triúr láidir ag fanacht i rannaí na máithreachais. En: Inside the hospital, Niamh, Ronan, and Aoife, three strong individuals, were waiting in the maternity ward.

Ga: Bhí Niamh ina suí go neirbhíseach, a lámha beagáinín ag crith. En: Niamh was sitting nervously, her hands slightly trembling.

Ga: Bhí a súile dírithe ar Ronan, atá ina shuí díreach in aice léi, ag gluaiseacht a ghlóir go ciúin. En: Her eyes were fixed on Ronan, who was sitting right next to her, moving his chair quietly.

Ga: Is é seo an chéad leanbh iad, agus in ainneoin an háthais ollmhór, bhí imní faoi cheilte ar Niamh. En: This was their first child, and despite the immense joy, Niamh was secretly anxious.

Ga: Abair go bhfuil sí réidh? En: Was she ready?

Ga: An mbeidh a n-iníon beag slán agus folláin? En: Would their little daughter be safe and healthy?

Ga: Bhraith sí an brú ag méadú uirthi. En: She felt the pressure building on her.

Ga: Ar an taobh eile den seomra, bhí Aoife ag iarraidh a bheith faoi shuaimhneas. En: On the other side of the room, Aoife was trying to remain calm.

Ga: Bhí sí i gcónaí láidir os comhair Niamh, í ag tabhairt tacaíochta agus diongbháilte. En: She was always strong in front of Niamh, offering support and determination.

Ga: Ach taobh amuigh den seomra, bhí a gaol léi féin agus a tuismitheoirí ag crá a hintinn. En: But outside the room, her relationship with herself and her parents was troubling her mind.

Ga: Theastaigh uaithi a bheith ansin do Niamh, gan a cuid trioblóidí féin a ligean isteach. En: She wanted to be there for Niamh, without letting her own troubles in.

Ga: Bhí Niamh ag glacadh le Ronan, a bhreathnaigh orthu go grámhar agus go himníoch. En: Niamh was holding onto Ronan, who looked at them with love and concern.

Ga: "Táim buartha," a dúirt sí, a glór íseal. En: "I'm worried," she said, her voice low.

Ga: "Cad má tá rud éigin mícheart? En: "What if something's wrong?

Ga: Cad má táim ró-lag le bheith i mo mháthair maith? En: What if I'm too weak to be a good mother?"

Ga: ""Gach duine tús ag bheith imníoch," d’fhreagair Ronan, ag brú a láimhe. En: "Everyone starts off anxious," Ronan replied, squeezing her hand.

Ga: "Táimid le chéile ann do seo. En: "We're in this together."

Ga: "D’fhéach Niamh air, a shúile líon le buíochas. En: Niamh looked at him, her eyes filled with gratitude.

Ga: Bhí a fhios aici anois go raibh sí ní b’láidre ná mar a cheap sí riamh. En: She knew now she was stronger than she'd ever thought.

Ga: Chuaigh Aoife thart chuici agus d’fháiltigh sí isteach í i mbarróg te. En: Aoife went over to her and welcomed her into a warm hug.

Ga: D’fhéadfadh sí féachaint ar an ngrá idir Niamh agus Ronan agus mhothaigh sí feargán. En: She could see the love between Niamh and Ronan and felt a pang.

Ga: Threoraigh an grá sin í, ag spreagadh smaointe faoi conas a d’fhéadfadh sí a caidreamh féin a fheabhsú lena dtuismitheoirí. En: That love guided her, inspiring thoughts on how she might improve her own relationship with her parents.

Ga: Ansin, chuaigh an dochtúir isteach sa seomra, ag briseadh an chiúnais leis an gcéad chléibh. En: Then, the doctor entered the room, breaking the silence with the first breath.

Ga: Bhí an phearsanra leighis ag siúl go muiníneach i
