Quasimodo Geniti - Second Sunday of Easter

Show Notes

Jesus came and stood among them and said, "Peace be with you," showing them His hands and side, embodying the triumph over death and hell, not as a sufferer but as a victor who proclaimed victory for all believers. This victory is contrasted with His tender approach to His disciples, offering peace and showing His wounds, which are symbols of His love and victory over demonic powers. This peace and the reality of His resurrection are gifts He extends to us, especially evident as we celebrate baptisms and confirmations, recognizing the new life we have in Christ. Through His descent into hell and resurrection, Christ not only defeated death but also secured our resurrection, both spiritually now and physically in the future. This duality of life in Christ marks us as alive in Him, contrasting with those who remain spiritually dead. This sermon celebrates the fullness of Easter, emphasizing the ongoing victory and peace we have in Jesus, which is far richer than any worldly celebration of Easter could offer.
