JUST IN: Police Announce Shocking Arrest Of 15-Year-Old For Homecoming Game Mass Shooting
True Crime RealitySummary
A 15-year-old boy, Anthony Rivers III, is arrested in connection with a mass shooting that occurred outside a homecoming football game in Tallahassee, Florida, leaving 11 people injured. The shooting took place Saturday night after a game between Florida A&M University and Arkansas Pine Bluff, where a large crowd had gathered to celebrate. Witnesses described the scene as chaotic, with gunfire leading to panic and a rush to escape, resulting in injuries from both gunfire and trampling.
Authorities report that Rivers has been charged with 11 counts of attempted second-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a delinquent. The incident reportedly stemmed from a fight involving known parties, and police confirmed that none of the victims were the intended targets. Among the injured, six remain hospitalized, including one in critical condition, while the youngest victim is just 11 years old. The police chief emphasized the need for accountability and ongoing investigations, suggesting that more arrests could follow as the situation develops.
This incident highlights a disturbing trend in gun violence, particularly involving young individuals. Recent studies indicate that the average age of mass shooters in the U.S. is around 34, making Rivers' age particularly alarming. The rise in mass shootings has seen a significant increase in fatalities over the past decade, raising concerns about youth access to firearms and the societal factors contributing to such violence.
