I thought it would be worthwhile to sit down and record a conversation with my wife. Jenny has been a marriage and family therapist for the last 20 years, so she carries a ton of wisdom. She's helped me understand the female/ wife perspective, and she's helped me grow into a solid husband. She's the best. If you want to hear exactly how we talk to each other every day, here it is.
More from Relationships Made Simple (for Men)
One of men's highest values is freedom, and one of their greatest fears is being manipulated. Many men settle into a "fine, I'll do it" philosophy to avoid arguments. They hold the belief that their wife likes to control them. I'll help you break down whether that's really true and how to work through the request/ resistance pattern in a productive way.

Tune in for specific instructions on what it takes to create a home culture that facilitates meaningful connections.

Questions 1. What can I do if my wife doesn't want to have sex anymore? 2. How do I lead in my marriage? 3. How do I heal the relationship with my dad? And, a few other things thrown in there. The next men's retreat is Sept. 25-28, 2026 in St. George, UT. Email me at [email protected] if you want more details.
Men respond to reasons, so here are a few. Our insecurities drive a lot of our behavior. If we understand them, we have more control over how we respond. If you and your partner understand each other's insecurities, you will be able to respond to each other more effectively. You won't get stuck trying to fix the wrong problem, over and over.
