Episode 1 of Laochra Liatroma is with Drumshambo native and ultra runner Ricki Wynne. Ricki started his sporting career as a nippy corner forward kicking points off the left for Leitrim Gaels. In his 30's he found a new calling, running over mountains for hours on end and he never turned back. He has won many local and international trail events and broke a world record for the most metres of elevation climbed in 24 hours by climbing Croagh Patrick a crazy 15 times in 24 hours. Ricky has represented Ireland on a number of occasions and his innate positivity is infectious and clearly evident on his instagram page @rickiwynne10 Ricky is an all round good guy and he was great to chat to as our very first guest.
