25 Years of Gold - Part 2 - Gold & Words Are Not Enough (with Aron Baxter - Music Video Director)
Glitter & Gold: The Original Steps PodcastShow Notes
In Part 2 of our Gold 25th anniversary celebrations, we dive into the release of the album 'Gold' and the single 'Words Are Not Enough'. Little did we know this would end up being the groups last official single release for 11 years. We also chat to film maker Aron Baxter who directed the music video for 'Words Are Not Enough', bringing Steps to life in animated form.
The Gold album went straight to Number 1 on the UK charts where it stayed for 3 non-consecutive weeks. In less than three months, it had sold over 900,000 copies to end up the 6th biggest album of 2001. Eventually going 4x Platinum, it has now surpassed sales of over 1.1 million copies.
