Natalie Halcro and Olivia Pierson: The Girls, Manifesting Fame, and Firing Their Whole Team

You Wish

Show Notes

Natalie Halcro and Olivia Pierson are two of the most glamorous people on Instagram, and if you've always wondered what they actually sound like — you're not alone, apparently. They stopped by fresh off the launch of their new Hulu show The Girls, and we got into everything. Growing up in Canada making vision boards before vision boards were even a thing, gluing their heads onto magazine covers and putting the E! logo in the middle, firing their entire team and going quiet for years, and how they somehow manifested all of it anyway from a suburb outside Vancouver while waitressing.

It’s spooky season, so who else would I have on but my Halloween queen herself, Bridget Marquardt! We came dressed as cats, and we talked all things body-shaming comments, the viral Megan Fox photo I’m convinced was doctored, and why paparazzi were hiding in bushes hoping to catch us looking frumpy.

Lately an old friend has returned to visit . . . clinical depression. I talk about my journey with it and how I cope before diving into an interview with Dr. Daniel Amen, a renown psychiatrist and founder of Amen Clinics. I was lucky enough to visit his clinic and get a SPEC scan on my brain, which was incredibly enlightening. Dr. Amen believes there are seven different types of ADHD and, to my surprise, I just might have one of them. We talk about all the things I have going on inside my head as well as the simple steps you can take to put your brain health first.

Two Vegas girls finally link up! I've been wanting to sit down with Suede Brooks forever, and she came with her famous suede lattes in hand. We get into what Calabasas Confidential got wrong about her (spoiler: she does not wake up and choose violence), going from bullied middle schooler to OG YouTuber, moving to LA at 15 right in the golden age of 2016, and how she became a poker baddie who beat Jose Canseco heads-up. She also opens up about depression and losing her dad, and the advice she shares is so real. Oh, and Howie Mandel stopped by with a turtle.

Usually I keep things light around here, but lately the Cornell 7 case is the only thing on my mind right now. So I asked Charm Daze to come back and talk about it with me, right in the VIP room of the Palomino, the most haunted club in Vegas. Charm volunteers as certified as a sexual assault advocate and she breaks down what an advocate actually does, why you should call a crisis center before you walk into a police station, and why bystanders who stay quiet are part of the problem.

Keltie Knight and I go way back — like, I have a Peepshow cast photo to prove it. She stopped by to talk about her new book The F*ck Them Theory, Broadway Bears, and just how rock bottom breakups can get you. We get into why spite and rage have genuinely been her greatest career tools, the good girl conditioning that makes women shrink themselves, what happened when E! News got canceled, and why she thinks 'letting them' is actually the worst advice anyone could give a woman.
