Summary
A little prince struggles with insomnia, causing concern for his parents, the king and queen. Despite their various attempts to help him sleep—such as trying a cradle, counting sheep, and listening to a boring story—none prove effective. The prince remains wide awake, even growing more energetic as he counts sheep in a field.
In a final effort, the king seeks out a renowned pianist to play a lullaby. However, the soothing music puts everyone else to sleep while the little prince remains awake and frustrated. Ultimately, after giving up on trying to sleep, the prince unexpectedly yawns and finally drifts off, concluding the tale with a peaceful good night.
