In this episode of Sasquatch Theory, I sit down with filmmaker and Bigfoot researcher Jason Kenzie, creator of the Searching for Sasquatch series. Jason has traveled throughout Canada and the United States interviewing eyewitnesses and investigating some incredible reports surrounding the Sasquatch phenomenon. Jason shares his experiences speaking with First Nations people in Canada, who told him about what they referred to as the Sasquatch people. They showed Jason an area where they believed the creatures traveled, and while investigating the location, Jason discovered impressive tracks and what was described to him as a possible migration path. But some of Jason's most intense experiences would come later while investigating the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
Deep in the forest, Jason and his fellow researchers discovered unusual tree structures, twisted trees, fresh breaks, and trees pushed across trails. After deciding to spend the night in a hammock tent, Jason smelled an awful, rotten odor and heard strange howls in the distance. Then something approached his hammock. Jason heard a loud crack followed by footsteps coming toward him. He says he could actually feel the vibrations through the hammock before something came close enough to grunt directly into his ear. And the activity didn't stop there. During continued investigations, the team experienced unexplained footsteps, fresh tree breaks, strange vocalizations, and mysterious eye shine that appeared to watch them from the darkness.
One researcher using a high-end thermal device also reported observing something near their camp. Jason describes another frightening encounter in which he believes he witnessed two possible Sasquatch—one moving incredibly fast and another appearing to crawl away before disappearing into the forest. After reviewing his footage, Jason also noticed unexplained eye shine behind him. Jason even discusses recordings that he believes may have captured Sasquatch communicating back and forth in the wilderness. What was surrounding these researchers in the Michigan woods? And how much closer did Jason get to these mysterious creatures than he ever intended? Candice grew up on a Michigan dairy farm, surrounded by wildlife and a family familiar with hunting. But while walking her horse through woods adjoining a state forest, she says she encountered something she couldn’t explain: a figure she estimated stood six to eight feet tall, partially concealed behind a V-shaped tree, with its hands wrapped around the trunks. Her horse refused to go farther.
Bent steel fence posts. Heavy blows against a backyard fence. And a strange clicking sound in the Canadian wilderness that reminded one witness of Predator. In this episode, Leslie from Texas shares a series of unexplained experiences that began in East Texas at a site she describes as an Indigenous burial ground. While there with a group, she heard what sounded like large animals moving nearby; sounds they initially assumed were cattle. Leslie also recounts unusual activity at her home in a busy, populated area, including bent steel fence posts with no tire tracks or obvious signs of human involvement.
Michael and his family stopped at Wisconsin’s Lake Wazee to camp, fish, and enjoy nature. What followed was a series of experiences he still struggles to explain. An unusual absence of wildlife gave way to a horrifying dream of a strange hominid watching his family.
On this episode of Sasquatch Theory, I interview Kalinna, who grew up in Oregon and has experienced strange and unexplained activity throughout much of her life. As a child, Kalinna remembers her grandparents warning her about the “wood boogers” living in the forest and telling her not to venture outside at night. Later in life, after spending years around the forests of Oregon and being married to a logger, she began noticing things she couldn't easily explain. Kalinna discovered unusual teepee-like structures in the forest and large bedding areas that didn't resemble typical deer, elk, or bear beds. She also began experiencing powerful physical sensations in certain locations, describing vibrations throughout her body and an overwhelming feeling that something was nearby. At one home, strange noises could be heard outside at night. Pebbles appeared to strike the roof, and her dogs would become frightened and shake as if something was lurking outside. Kalinna eventually felt so uncomfortable that they left the area.
In this episode of Sasquatch Theory, I interview Meg from California about a series of strange experiences at a remote cabin near Highway 108. The activity began when Meg heard an incredibly loud slap against the house. At first, they tried to find a normal explanation for what had happened, but the incidents continued. Meg eventually discovered a rock circle and what appeared to be a small juvenile Bigfoot footprint nearby. Curious about what might be living around the property, Meg began gifting.
