Show Notes

Hard seasons have a way of making us wonder if we should take the easier path.

In "Where Are You With Doing Hard Things? | Doing Hard Things During Hard Times," we discover that while the world tells us to avoid discomfort, Scripture invites us to embrace faithful obedience—even when life is difficult. James reminds us that hardship isn't something to fear or avoid. It's often the very place where God develops endurance, strengthens our faith, and shapes us into the people He's called us to become.

Following Jesus has never been about choosing the path of least resistance. It's about trusting Him enough to obey, even when obedience is costly. The good news is that while God calls us to do hard things, He never expects us to do them in our own strength. Jesus offers His presence, His peace, and His strength to carry us through every season.

In this sermon, you'll discover: Why God calls His people to do hard things

How we often make difficult seasons heavier than they need to be

The difference between carrying the weight of obedience and the burden of disobedience

What it means to take on the yoke of Jesus and find rest in Him

How God meets us with strength when we faithfully follow His leading

The question isn't whether life will be hard, the question is: Who are you trusting to carry you through it?

Because God never promised an easy road. He promised to walk with us every step of the way.

In Ephesians 4:1–6, Paul called us to walk worthy of our calling by maintaining the unity of the Spirit — through humility, gentleness, and bearing with one another in love. That’s how we protect unity as individuals. But in verse 7, Paul turns to how we maintain it together as a church.

For the first three chapters of Ephesians, Paul has been showing us who we are in Christ, what we have received through Him, and what His grace has accomplished on our behalf. But when chapter 4 begins, the focus shifts. Paul moves from what we believe to how those beliefs should actually shape the way we live.
