A routine favor turns into a nightmare.
When Meredith Fisher agrees to stop by her sister’s house, something feels off the moment she arrives—lights on in the middle of the day, a dog whining inside, a door that won’t open. What she finds upstairs will haunt her forever: a brutal crime scene, her sister dead, and a child left behind in the aftermath.
As investigators begin to piece together what happened inside that house on Birchleaf Drive, the picture that emerges is anything but simple. A marriage unraveling. Fights escalating. Secrets building.
And a husband who just happens to be out of town… with a story that almost makes sense.
