Show Notes
Red Cards and Racing’s redemption are the headlines of this week’s show. Just the 7 red cards so far in our retro Jornada, we have also seen an official communicado against the refereeing from one club, leaders Racing lost 6-2 last week and won 5-1 this weekend, Mirandes looked dead and buried but came back from 2-0 down against promotion chasers Castellon, the final minutes of Huesca v Depor were a sight to behold and we saw all the races across the entire league become tighter than ever.
In part 1 we cover the top end of the table, with part 2 focussing on the relegation battle.

This week we had manager madness as we saw not one, not 2, but 3 sackings in 7 days. Ruben de la Barrera last Monday night with Las Palmas, Ruben Albes this Sunday night with Leganes and Monday morning brought number 3, Albert Celades of Cadiz. Almeria made it seven wins in a row, Sporting Gijon jumped into the play offs with victory and Eldense and Granada are coming nicely to the boil with three wins in a row.

This week Segunda lost their only undefeated side, with Castellon falling in Andorra meaning Eibar are top for another week despite defeat in Oviedo. Almeria made it 6 wins in a row against Leganes who must now be reviewing Ruben Albes’ future, Las Palmas were comfortably beaten against Mallorca to leave Ruben de la Barrera teetering on the brink, Eldense’s late winner sparked rage in Cordoba’s Ivan Ania, Sabadell won again this time with ten men, we had an all B team affair, and Real Valladolid demolished Albacete in Etxeberria’s first game in charge.

Albacete have wielded the axe and Alberto González becomes our third sacking of the season, we have new leaders as Eibar go top, Cádiz hit Leganés for 4 to get their first win of the season, both B teams are involved in 3-2 thrillers including a Granada remontada from 2-0 down, we have positive runs for Eibar who make it 7 wins in a row and Almeria who make it 5, as well as a couple of coaches who are popping their heads above the parapet to be shot at with their poor runs. El Comandante is back in Segunda and we have the Copa del Rey draw to talk about.
