Whispers from the Past – Part One: The Man Who Shouldn’t Exist | Whispers in the Dark

A man who hasn’t been touched in years. A stranger who shouldn’t exist. And a connection that defies everything he knows.

In Whispers from the Past: System Dreams — a gay romance podcast by Dane Cecco — Chase Carter lives alone high above a city where technology watches everything, human connection has faded, and isolation has become a way of life.

Then one night… someone appears in his apartment. His name is Jake. He shouldn’t be there. He may not even be real. But night after night, Jake returns.

And slowly, the walls Chase has built around himself begin to fall.

What starts as an impossible encounter becomes something deeper — desire, intimacy, tenderness, and a connection Chase thought he had lost forever.

But who is Jake? A ghost from another time? A glitch hidden inside the system? Or something that was never supposed to survive?

A silent apartment above a futuristic city. Two men separated by the impossible. And one haunting question:

Does love have to last forever to change us forever?

Because sometimes the person who brings us back to life isn’t the person who gets to stay.

And sometimes… the briefest connection leaves the deepest mark.
