With the new year comes a new season of brand new episodes, and new cohosts through the season! Forgiveness is one of the most difficult responsibilities of the Christian. When we’ve been hurt deeply, how can we show forgiveness to those who’ve wronged us? Janet Aucoin and one of our new cohosts, Noelle Haynie, explore Christ’s example of forgiveness from the cross. They examine His intercessory work and His bearing of both the sin and pain of the world. This discussion reveals the hope we have in Christ’s work for us, and how we can extend that same hope to others who have wronged us. Have you ever had the rug pulled out from under you? Perhaps you are carrying a persistent regret or a trial that refuses to let up. In this episode, Janet and Leah continue their conversation on the biblical practice of lament. Together, they examine our natural, fallen tendencies to run, vent, or shut others out when suffering strikes and contrast those reactions with the redemptive act of taking our grief directly to the Lord. Drawing from Christ’s own agonizing prayers in Gethsemane, this episode reminds us that because Jesus lamented, He is the ultimate refuge where we can safely bring our pain. Have you ever caught yourself thinking, "I'm just a trusting person," until someone proved you wrong? Or perhaps you’ve wondered whether forgiving someone means you must immediately trust them again. In this tender and truth-filled conversation, Janet and Noelle explore what Scripture teaches about trust, forgiveness, wisdom, and the safety we have in Christ. While God calls us to place our whole hearts in Him, He does not ask us to give people the same unquestioning trust. Together, they lovingly unpack the difference between extending forgiveness and rebuilding trust—and how we can wisely give trust room to grow as faithfulness is demonstrated over time. Whether you are recovering from broken trust, seeking to love someone wisely, or simply longing to grow in discernment, this episode offers biblical encouragement without shame or fear. Be reminded that Jesus is completely faithful, perfectly safe, and always worthy of your trust. Does “missions” feel like something meant for someone else—someone willing to move to a remote jungle or across the world? It’s easy to assume missions is not for us and move on. In this episode, Noelle Haynie, who grew up as a missionary kid in Santiago, Chile, shares three meaningful ways every believer can take part in God’s mission. From praying for and supporting missionaries, to serving well on short-term trips, to seeing your own home, workplace, and community as places to reflect Christ, this conversation offers a fresh perspective on what missions can look like. Instead of asking, “Am I called to missions?” discover a better question: “How is God calling me to participate?” Wherever He has placed you, you bear the image of Christ and He can use you to make His love known. When a crisis comes, it rarely arrives at a convenient time. And when someone we love is hurting, it can be hard to know what to say—or how to help. In this episode, Noelle talks with Dr. John Babler, a longtime fire and police chaplain and seminary professor, about bringing the compassion of Christ into life’s hardest moments. He shares a simple, practical framework for caring well: showing compassion, serving humbly, listening attentively, and faithfully ministering God’s Word while all covered in prayer. Whether someone is facing a major tragedy or an everyday loss, this hope-filled conversation will encourage you to be the hands and feet of Jesus and point hurting hearts toward the comfort and hope found in Christ. Can you feel joy while your heart aches for a child who’s walked away from the faith? For parents living that tension, it can feel impossible to reconcile. Janet Aucoin talks with returning guest Stuart Scott about his devotional on wayward children, unpacking Isaiah 1 and Romans 9 to show that God knows the ache of rebellious children. They discuss confession, community, and resting in God’s sovereignty rather than in a formula for parenting success. Their discussion uses scripture to point hurting parents back to Christ.
